Who should take Pediatric CPR and First Aid class?
Heartsaver Pediatric CPR and First Aid is intended for those involved in childcare who have a duty to respond to illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. This audience includes childcare workers, teachers, foster care workers, camp counselors, youth organizations, and coaches for children’s sports organizations. This course is also ideal for parents, grandparents, extended family, babysitters, and guardians.
Pediatric CPR and First Aid Topics Covered
Adult, Child, Infant CPR/AED and foreign body airway management (choking), management of illness and injuries for a child or infant until professional help arrives.
First aid basics: Management of illness and injuries until professional help arrives. Emergencies such as including medical, injury, poison, and environmental emergencies, preventing illnesses and injuries and controlling bleeding & bandaging. Covers topics like using a tourniquet, shock, internal bleeding, burns and electrical injuries, allergic reactions, breathing problems & dehydration, diabetes & low blood sugar, heat-and cold-related emergencies, drowning, amputations, bites and stings, broken bones and sprains. Also covers splinters, nose bleeds, fainting, seizures, and injuries to the head, eyes, neck, spine, mouth, and teeth.
Certification: American Heart Association© Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification.
You will receive your Pediatric CPR/First Aid eCard on the day of the class.
